Wheat in the feed industry.
Good and healthy nutrition is a central criterion for a large share of people today. Food quality plays a major role in this. More and more end consumers are coming to realise that quality starts with the quality of the feed. Today’s feed industry creates the basic prerequisite for the production of good food of animal origin by providing safe feed.
Solutions for the feed industry and agricultural enterprises
Crespeo develops and produces sustainable products for the animal feed industry and agricultural enterprises within the Crespel & Deiters Group. With functional wheat-based products, the Crespeo Business Area provides an important contribution to the nutritious, sustainable and tasty feeding of farm animals and the production of feed.
Cattle
Wheat starches
Liquid wheat starches as energy feed for nutrient enrichment of cattle feed rations increases the economic efficiency of feeding and also provides the cattle with easily digestible carbohydrates.
In dried form, wheat starch is particularly suitable as a natural binder for feed pellets and as a separating agent and carrier for special feed in feed production.
Pigs
Wheat starches
Crespeo’s liquid feed for feed mixtures is particularly energy rich, with a high starch content of at least 65%.
Wheat starch is also used in dried form as a binding agent and stabiliser for feed pellets for the industrial production of pig feed.
Wheat proteins
Crespeo’s natural, high quality and physiological wheat-based straight feeding stuff has a slightly acidic and therefore appetising taste.
Hydrolysed wheat protein is also suitable for protein enrichment in the end application in animal feed production, especially for milk substitutes.
Young animal rearing
The decision to raise young animals with milk substitutes can have different reasons for feed manufacturers and livestock farmers. Apart from an under-supply by the mother, financial or labour management reasons can also be decisive for the choice of feeding young animals. Milk substitute feeds can ensure that the young animals are fed according to their age and performance. It offers a consistent and specially adapted composition of nutrients, thereby enabling a healthy development.
Pregelatinised flours and wheat proteins
The natural, wheat-based nutrient substitute in milk substitutes for rearing calves, piglets and lambs is suitable as a stabiliser for fatty systems and as a binder and carrier for fatty products.
